Oklahoma dropped to 2-2 in WCWS openers, while Washington improved to 6-0.

Oklahoma senior All-American Leah Gulla has a postseason batting average of .500 (8-for-16), which includes six RBIs and two runs accumulated in the Region Four Championships. Gulla went 1-for-3 today.

Washington senior shortstop Jaime Clark is hitting .500 (9-for-18) in the postseason with seven RBIs and three home runs, including a solo shot to tie up today's contest in the fourth inning.

Oklahoma seniors Leah Gulla, Kelli Braitsch, Erin Evans and Jennifer Stump are making their fourth consecutive appearance in the WCWS. The group has a career WCWS record of 5-5, which also stands as OU's all time record in the series.

OU sophomore starting pitcher Kami Keiter recorded eight strikeouts, her second-highest total in the last 12 games. Keiter had 10 strikeouts against Texas-Arlington in NCAA Regional play on May 17.

Washington improved to 13-8 all-time in the WCWS with runner-up finishes in 1996 and 1999.

Today's defeat marked OU first loss (5-1) to a Pac-10 team this season.

Washington faced five WCWS teams prior to the NCAA Championships and now owns a 4-7 record against the group.

Washington junior starting pitcher Jennifer Stump lead-off solo home run to left field in the third inning. Bollinger started the streak against Arizona on May 10 and was perfect through NCAA Region Five competition.

Washington starter Kami Keiter fell to 33-8.

OU had an all-time series record of 4-3 against Washington prior to today's defeat. The Huskies were the only team in the WCWS that Oklahoma had an all-time series advantage over entering today.

Washington returns to WCWS action against No. 1 seed Arizona Friday at 4:30 p.m., while Oklahoma will face No. 8 seed Alabama Saturday at 11 a.m.

Washington owns a 14-37 all-time record against Arizona, who took two of three from the Huskies during the Pac-10 regular season. The Huskies were one of two teams to knock off the Wildcats in conference action. Oklahoma owns a 1-1 record against Alabama, meeting most recently in 2002 when the Crimson Tide defeated the Sooners 6-1 at the NFCA Kickoff Classic.
