WELCOME |
Welcome to the University of Washington Sports Medicine department. We are committed to providing complete sports medicine services to Husky student-athletes. These services include, but are not limited to, injury prevention, evaluation, and therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses, pre-participation exams (physicals), nutritional counseling and psychological counseling.The University of Washington Sports Medicine team includes 18 Certified Athletic Trainers, 1 Physical Therapist, 11 Medical Doctors (8 Primary Care Sports Medicine Physicians & 3 Orthopedic Surgeons), 3 Registered Dietitians and 3 Clinical & Sport Psychologists. In addition, we have many external healthcare experts in the community that we consult with as needed. The UW Sports Medicine multi-disciplinary approach to student-athlete health care team utilizes current concepts and evidence-based medicine to maintain the health and well-being of over 600 student-athletes.
The University of Washington's athletics facilities are located directly across the street from the nationally recognized University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC). University of Washington team physician offices are conveniently located in the south side of Husky Stadium in the UW Stadium Sports Medicine Clinic providing unparalleled access to team physicians. The extensive UW Medicine network supports the University of Washington Sports Medicine team in providing relevant specialty referral services that may be encountered in intercollegiate athletics.
