
Sumantri Reaches All-American Round Of 16

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - One of the biggest wins in Husky Dea Sumantri's career came in the first match of her senior season in today's first round of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships main singles draw. Sumantri, ranked 11th, routed 20th-ranked Petra Dizdar of Texas, 6-3, 6-1, to advance to the round of 16.
Sumantri is Washington's last representative at the eight-day long tournament. The All-American Championships are the first of three individual national championships and boasts the largest field in collegiate tennis.
In tomorrow's second round, Sumantri faces No. 47 Zerene Reyes of Florida. Play concludes on Sunday, Oct. 10.
