General Comments: "It was a really hard-fought battle and a hard-fought win for our team. When we got up 10 or 11 and it appeared that they were on the ropes, I felt like if we could've a couple of stops and taken care of the ball we could've distanced ourselves. But that didn't happen. To their credit they continued to play and continued to fight. But when it appeared that we might be on the ropes, we did the same thing."
On Jon Brockman: "Jon Brockman, 31 points, 18 rebounds tonight. It's one of the game that you hate to see a performance like that go down the drain. There won't be a game this year where that's not the game plan [to get Brockman the ball]. He turned the corner offensively last year against Stanford against the Lopez twins. We were not very wise men if we didn't go to him."
On Justin Holiday: "The other guy that would get a game ball would be Justin Holiday. He came in the game and you could just tell that his ultimate desire was for us to win and what he could do to help us win. It was `how do I help win this game.'"
On advancing in the tournament: "I think it is very important. We get an opportunity to go play on a national stage. We get the opportunity to go play in one of the most prestigious event centers in the country, the Garden [Madison Square Garden]. There are many athletes who go through their entire lives and never get to play in the Garden. It's something that is special that you can carry with you for the rest of your life.'"

On Last Two Minutes: "We had some different lineups in there, some lineups that really haven't played together this year, because of foul trouble. I thought we made some plays to get back in it. I thought we did a nice job of adjusting defensively without Luke (Nevill) and Kim (Tillie) - our bigger guys. You've got to give (Washington) credit, they hung in there, and they made the plays at the end and we didn't. At this level, you've got to make the plays at the end. We didn't cut out, and it cost us two points. We missed seven free-throws throughout the game, and that hurt us. We had some shots at the end that you've got to make. You've got to make plays at the end at this level to win games, especially on the road. But I am proud of my guys. We battled back. We hung in there, and I got a lot from a lot of guys.
On Learning: "We are going to keep trying to get better. We are going to grow. We are going to learn from this. We've got to get ready for this environment again. This is a good test for us and we have to learn from it. We are going to grow up, and we are going to move on."
On Rebounding: "We got killed on the boards -14-2 on the offensive boards. You've got to give them credit for that. They played hard. But, you know, you let the other team shoot 37 free throws on the road, and you are going to have a hard time winning. I thought we hung in there pretty good, but we have to get better."
On Jon Brockman: "Brockman is a good player. He gets 31 and 18...He is a very good player."
