
ASU Sweeps Huskies in Pac-10 Opener

Tempe, Ariz. - The Washington Husky women's tennis team dropped its Pac-10 Conference opener 7-0 to No. 24 Arizona State on Friday in Tempe, Arizona. The Huskies (0-5, 0-1) were only able to manage one doubles victory on the day against the Sun Devils (5-1, 1-0).
The No. 2 doubles team comprised of Melinda Wong and Tara Simpson defeated Jessica Leitch and Sabrina Capannolo, but the Huskies dropped to other two doubles matches to fall behind 1-0.
The Sun Devils rolled in singles against the Dawgs earning straight-set victories in all six matches.
Simpson played No. 1 for the Huskies for a third-consecutive time, while Victoria Brymer jumped up to No. 2 for the match.
The Huskies return to action tomorrow, taking on Arizona in Tucson at 12:30 p.m PT.
