Huskies' Head Coach
Opening Statement
"I think it's pretty simple; we played about 18-20 minutes of basketball tonight and we can't think that that's enough to beat any team. I don't care how talented, more talented, athletic, size, it doesn't matter. When we come to play basketball, you saw what happened in the second half and that is us. For some reason today we just didn't click on all levels in the first half."
On what it's like watching the game during a game like today's
"You know, it's not like we created anything in the second half. It was the same offensive we were looking for, the same screens. We just got challenged today. It was a physical game on both ends, by both teams, and for the most part, UC-Riverside responded a little better than we did in the first half."
On why their performance in the second half was different
"I think our attitude in the second half, that's offensively, defensively, you name it. We were just a completely different team so, I know I've said this before kind of jokingly, but, you got two games for the price of one today."
Mollie Williams
Junior forward
On 2nd half play:
"Our mentality was better in the second half. In the first half we weren't all there. At halftime we talked about playing in `Our House' and that we need to pick it up and show people what they have been missing while we were on the road. We came into the second half more focused."
On the 1st half:
"Shots weren't falling. We have to stay together as a team. This is a long season and we have to get better and stay together. Like Coach says, we have to have a short term memory."
On Marjorie Heard's play:
"One thing you have to love about her is that she is always positive and brings that trait to everyone."
Mackenzie Argens
RS Junior forward
On the 1st half
"It (play in the first half) got to us. At halftime we knew we couldn't do this, we said we are better than this and we came out fired up and our shots were falling. We focused on getting the boards and boxing out."
On Marjorie Heard's play
"She had a great game. She is a physical girl and she got the boards and saw the open looks. Coach J says the quick looks are our shots tonight and she focused on that and got the ball up fast."
