
No. 15 Huskies Post Highest Score In Seven Years

SEATTLE - How sweet it is to be back in Alaska Airlines Arena. After spending the last month on the road, the No. 15 Husky gymnastics team posted its highest team score in seven years, defeating Michigan State, 196.075-193.075.
It is the first score of 196+ since Feb. 21, 2009 for UW and the highest team score under current head coach Joanne Bowers.
The Huskies posted season-best team scores on the beam (48.775) and floor (49.150) and solid scores of 48.875 on the beam and 49.275 on the vault.
A Husky gymnast won each of the four events and the all-around.
Junior Ruby Engreitz (Kirkland, Wash.) posted the second-highest all-around score of her career, winning the title for the third time, with a 39.200.She also won the floor, her first such title of the season, with a 9.850, tying teammates Paige Bixler (Rowlett, Texas) and Samantha Walior (Prior Lake, Minn.). It was a new career-high for Bixler on the event.
Walior won three total titles on the night with a 9.850 on bars and on the beam.
Junior Amanda Cline (Aurora, Colo.) won her fourth vault title of the season, tying a career-high with a 9.925. Washington took the first six spots on the event with senior Haley Bogart (Woodside, Calif.) finishing second (9.875) and sophomore Lauren Rogers (Plains, Pa.) tied a season-high with 9.850, good enough for third. All six Huskies on vault posted scores of 9.750 or higher.
Behind Walior on bars was Engreitz with a 9.825 and Rogers with a 9.775 to place second and third, respectively.
Bogart finished third on beam, tying a season-high with a 9.825.
Freshman Aliza Vaccher (Eugene, Ore.) was second in the all-around, posting a 38.925.
The Huskies will honor the three seniors, Bogart, Walior and Kristen Linton at the final home meet on Friday, March 11 at 7 p.m. vs. Seattle Pacific and Air Force.
