SEATTLE - The first game of the three-game Pac-10 series at Husky Softball Stadium on Friday night went to No. 12 Cal, as the golden Bears defeated the No. 7 Huskies, 10-0 in five innings.

UW falls to 27-4 overall and 2-2 in league play while Cal improves to 24-6 and 2-2.

Freshman Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) got the start in the circle, allowing six runs on six hits in 3.1 innings. She falls to 3-2 on the year and 1-1 in Pac-10 play. Cal struck against Walker in the first inning with a solo home run to center by Britt Vonk.

On the other side, Jolene Henderson improved to 22-4 for the Golden Bears, allowing just three hits while striking out seven.

The first hit of the game for the Huskies was a double by junior Kimi Pohlman (Sammamish, Wash.) down the left field line with two outs in the third. Pohlman had two of the three Husky hits.

The best chance for the Huskies to score in the third inning with two outs and the bases loaded, but the inning ended on a ground out.

Cal extended the lead to 9-1 in the fourth with eight runs in the inning and picked up one more run in the fifth. They had 11 hits off of three Husky pitchers. Junior Jenna Clifton (Glendale, Ariz.) pitched 0.2 innings in relief, allowing four runs on four hits. Sophomore Baily Harris (Longview, Wash.) finished the game, pitching the fifth inning and allowing just one hit.

The third hit for the Huskies was a single by freshman Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.).
