TEMPE, Ariz. - Two runs in the fourth for the host Sun Devils (38-5, 9-3) gave them a 2-1 victory and the series for the No. 2/2 team in the country over No. 14/13 Washington (32-12, 10-5) on Sunday afternoon.
Washington took a 1-0 lead in the third as junior Kelli Suguro (Kent, Wash.) doubled down the left field line and scored on a single to right by sophomore Kimberlee Souza (Waialua, Hawai'i).
Back-to-back doubles in the fourth by Haley Steele and Elizabeth Caporuscio for ASU tied the game. They had the bases loaded with one out and pinch hitter Bethany Kemp singled to left driving in the winning run. The third double play of the game for the Huskies ended the inning.
Junior Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) pitched the complete game and allowed two earned runs on nine hits in 6.0 innings. She is 17-5 on the year.
Dallas Escobedo got the win for ASU, her second in two days against the Huskies. She allowed one earned run on four hits in the complete game.
Freshman Dani Braun (Chehalis, Wash.) earned her first career start as the designated player in the game.
