Washington: Three-year letterwinner...Worked hard over the summer in preparation for her senior season...Improved her serving and volleying dramatically...Has great speed and feistiness...When she acknowledges her ability to run down every ball and keep it in play, she will give opponents fits...Will push for one of the top three spots in singles...Has become a rock in doubles...Ranks eighth in UW history in career singles wins (56).
1998-99 (Junior): Spent much of the season ranked by the ITA, beginning the fall at No. 64 and finished the season tied for 96th...Upset No. 32 Amanda Augusts of Cal in dual-match play...Played primarily at Nos. 2 and 3 in singles, compiling a 10-9 dual-match record...Won the Flight I title at the UW Fall Invitational and reached the third round of Rolex Regionals...Teamed with Peggy Wu to form the No. 2 doubles team and was ranked as high as 41st late in the fall...Went 8-8 in that spot and 16-11 overall...That duo won the Flight I title at the UW Fall Invitational and advanced to the quarterfinals of Rolex Regionals.
1997-98 (Sophomore): Finished the season ranked 84th in the nation and 10th in the region...Played primarily in the No. 2 singles position, compiling a 13-6 record there...Won her only match in the No. 1 spot, defeating Yael Stuart of Northern Arizona, 6-4, 6-1...Defeated four ranked opponents during the spring season...Recorded upsets over No. 22 Esther Knox of Cal (6-3, 4-6, 6-4) in dual match action and No. 75 Veronica Safarova of USC (4-6, 6-1, 6-3) at NCAA Regionals...Her 25-11 record ties her for second on the all-time UW single-season victory list and is 18th in single-season singles winning percentage (.694)...Put together winning streaks of nine (Feb. 7-Mar. 21) and seven (Oct. 25-Nov. 8) matches...Teamed with Kristina Kraszewski to compile a 12-6 record in doubles, playing primarily in the No. 2 spot but finished at No. 1...The duo posted the only doubles win in a dual match against No. 21 Southern Cal, downing Safarvo-Warkentin, 8-6...Also swept USC's Boyd-Hber, 6-3, 6-3, in the first round of Pac-10s...Stunova played with three other partners for an overall doubles record of 15-10.
1997 (Freshman): Joined the Washington program for the spring season...Was voted to the all-Pac-10 Northern Division second team...Posted a 9-5 record playing No. 4 singles...Teamed with Meggan Cadigan to fill the No. 3 doubles slot...That duo posted a 12-12 overall record.
High School: Graduated from high school in December of 1996...Attended Rio Mesa High School in Somis, Calif., as a foreign exchange student...Won the CIF Championship as both a junior and senior...Hometown is Pilsen in the Czech Republic, where she was ranked No. 2 in the Girls 16s...Was ranked No. 7 in Southern California Girls 18s when she graduated...Named the Rio Mesa athlete of the year as a senior.
