
Dawgs Fall to Washington State, 80-77

SEATTLE (AP) — DaVonte Lacy hit six straight free throws down the stretch and finished with 25 points as Washington State held off a late Washington surge to earn an 80-77 win on Saturday.
Washington State (8-7, 2-1 Pac-12) has won two straight after its nonconference schedule left them 6-6. The Huskies (11-4, 0-3) have lost four consecutive after an 11-0 start.
Que Johnson scored 15 points, Ike Iroegbu had 13 and Brett Boese added 11 for Washington State. Josh Hawkinson grabbed 10 rebounds.
Nigel Williams-Goss scored a season-high 30 points for Washington. Shawn Kemp Jr. and Andrew Andrews had 12 apiece, and Mike Anderson and Robert Upshaw added 10 each.
Washington ripped off a 7-0 run, capped by Andrews' three-point play, to give Washington a 68-67 lead. The Cougars responded with a 7-2 run.
It was Washington State's first win at Washington since knocking off the Huskies 80-69 on Feb. 27, 2011.
