No. 43 Huskies Fall to No. 25 Ole Miss, 6-1, in Hawaii

HONOLULU – The University of Washington women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the 2015 spring season as it fell to No. 25 Ole Miss, 6-1, Saturday afternoon at the UH Tennis Complex. The No. 43 Huskies are now 1-1 on the year and face Hawaii on Sunday before returning to Seattle.
The Rebels took the doubles point as 45th-ranked Arianne Hartono and Mai El Kamash defeated Julija Lukac and Grace Ysidora, 6-4 on court three. Angela Chen and Miki Kobayashi fell to Julia Jones and Natalie Suk, 6-2, on court two, while Elianne Douglas-Miron and Riko Shimizu were edged by Iris Verboven and Erin Stephen, 7-5, s at number one doubles.
In singles action, junior Elianne Douglas-Miron, ranked 90th nationally, made her first appearance of the season after coming off of an injury and fell to 20th-ranked Julia Jones 6-1, 6-1 at number one singles. The Rebels won four more matches on courts two, six, four and three before Riko Shimizu claimed a 6-3, 7-6 win on court five over Verboven.
The Huskies continue their trip to Hawaii as they take on the Rainbow Wahine on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT at the UH Tennis Complex.
