
GymDawgs Post Season-High 196.600 At SPU

SEATTLE – UW gymnastics recorded a season-high 196.600 as the GymDawgs posted scored of 49.000 or above on each of their four events for the second time this season. Senior captain Allison Northey won the all-around title with a 39.500 and three event titles, while junior captain Kaitlyn Duranczyk won her third straight bars title and had two top-3 finishes.
“We are so proud of this team right now,” UW head coach Joanne Bowers. “We are peaking at the right time and put it all together tonight. This is a glimpse at the potential this team has.”
Northey continued a stellar senior year by posting a 39.500 or above for the third time this season, winning event titles on vault, beam and floor, and finishing second on bars.
“We finally showed how good of a team we are, and we still have places to improve,” Northey said. “It's really exciting to get a great road score and bumping up our RQS. We are gaining confidence and trusting ourselves more, so we are on a good path.”
Duranczyk has become a mainstay at the anchor spot in the bars lineup, winning her fifth bars title of the season. Freshman Malory Rose posted her second-straight 9.875 on beam, matching the personal-best she set against Western Michigan.
Event Summaries – Total Score:
Vault, 49.125 – The GymDawgs posted their highest vault total of the season, led by Northey's 9.875 to win her second vault title of the season. Joslyn Goings and Alexandra Yacalis each posted 9.85s to tie for second place. For Goings, the 9.85 tied her personal-best. Hailey Burleson recorded a 9.8, continuing her very consistent season on vault. Emily Liddle and Stephanie Stowe finished with a 9.75 and a 9.725, respectively, to round out the scoring.
Bars, 49.075 – Duranczyk won her third straight bars title as the GymDawgs finished with their second-highest bars total of the season. Northey tied for second with a 9.85, and Zoey Schaefer took fourth with a 9.8. Goings and Burleson posted matching 9.775s to tie for fifth and Jessica Nesis finished with a 9.75.
Beam, 49.250 – The GymDawgs matched their season-high on beam, as Northey posted a 9.9 to tie for the event title. Freshman Rose followed up a personal-best performance against Western Michigan by matching that personal-best with a 9.875. Stowe recorded a 9.85, her second-best score this season. Burleson finished with a 9.825 and Duranczyk posted a 9.8. Goings recorded a 9.725.
Floor, 49.150 – Rounding out Northey's stellar evening, the senior captain posted a 9.875 to win the floor title. Schaefer and Duranczyk each posted 9.85s to tie for second. Yacalis posted a 9.8 and Liddle recorded a 9.775, while Goings finished with a 9.725.
All-Around – Northey posted a 39.500 to win the all-around title, winning vault, beam and floor titles. It was the third time this season Northey has hit 39.500 or above. Goings finished in third in the all-around with a 39.075 total.

The GymDawgs will face the Falcons for the second time this week when SPU comes to Alaska Airlines Arena on Saturday, March 12, at 6 p.m. Completing the tri-meet field will be Denver. The GymDawgs faced the Pioneers earlier this season in Denver. The meet will be streamed live and live stats will be available.
