April 05, 2016 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE – UW senior captain Allison Northey will compete in the first session of the NCAA Championships on Friday, April 15, at 1 p.m. CT in Forth Worth Texas. As an individual competitor, she will rotate with the University of Georgia and will begin on beam.
Northey will compete as an all-arounder after finishing in second-place of individuals not on advancing teams at last weekend's regional meet in Salt Lake. Northey took fourth overall in the all-around and won the regional beam title as the GymDawgs took third place, narrowly missing a trip for the team to the NCAA Championships.
This will be Northey's first trip to the NCAA Championships and the first individual competitor for the GymDawgs at the NCAA meet since 2013. UW has sent 29 gymnasts total as individual competitors to the NCAA Championships. The GymDawgs have advanced as a team to the NCAA Championships five times.
