
Meet The Husky Freshmen: Fapou Semebene

The University of Washington women's basketball program welcomed five freshmen in 2017-18 who will look to contribute in their rookie debuts. GoHuskies.com will introduce a member of the Husky freshmen class leading up to the season.
Fapou Semebene is a 6-1 forward from Los Angeles, who is a great athlete that can shoot the three, the pull-up jumper or slash to the rim. She will be a force on the defensive end, both on the perimeter and in the paint. Semebene, whose name is pronounced fa-TWO SIM-bean, played two seasons at View Park High School and Fairfax High School, both in Los Angeles. She earned first-team all-city honors all four years of high school, averaging 16 points, 10 rebounds and four assists per game as a senior. That season, she helped guide the Lions (Fairfax) to an open division championship, recording 15 points and 14 rebounds in the game.
Q: What are you most looking forward to heading into your freshman season?
A: I'm looking forward to Contributing to my team on the court
Q: How would you describe your game?
A: I'm a wing player and athletic
Q: Where is your favorite place to hang out in Seattle?
A: Northgate Mall
Q: Why did you choose the number you wear?
A: I've had that number all my life
Q: What is one random fact that people wouldn't know about you?
A: I'm good at drawing
Q: What are your goals for the upcoming season?
A: My goal is to be aggressive on the court
Q: What is the best moment of your basketball career so far?
A: My best moment was winning the city championship my senior year
Q: What are your hobbies outside of sports?
A: I like to hangout with friends
Q: What is your dream job (not including playing basketball)?
A: My dream job is to become a police officer
