Beach Dawgs Finish Regular Season Beating Broncos

BOISE, Idaho – The Huskies put a cap on the regular season and earned their fourth win in as many tries against Boise State today at the Boise State Sand Volleyball Complex. Washington (12-11) earned a 4-1 win over the Broncos and heads into the Pac-12 Championships next week at Stanford ready to make a push.
With its 12th win today, the Huskies set a new program record for wins, hoping to pick up a few more next week at Pac-12s. Four of those wins came against Boise State, two in Seattle and two now in Boise.
The match started with the No. 5 dual, then the No. 3 and No. 4 matches, followed by the top two matches. Washington won the first three matches all in straight sets today to clinch things early.
Samantha Drechsel and Natalie Robinson turned things around at No. 5 after they had a loss on Friday. They closed the first set by winning nine of the final 11 points to win 21-17, then saved a Boise State set point in the second to win 23-21 over Watkins/Johnson.
At the No. 3 spot, Carly DeHoog and Shayne McPherson got their fourth win over BSU's Bulda/Allen without dropping a set, winning 21-18, 21-12. Anna Crabtree and Kara Bajema clinched with a 21-16, 21-10 win at No. 4.
Courtney Schwan returned to the lineup after missing Friday's match and she teamed with Destiny Julye for a 21-13, 21-14 win at the No. 2 spot. After clinching the win yesterday, Jordan Anderson and Kimmy Gardiner fell short at No. 1 to Walley/Roberts, 21-17, 21-16, to make the final 4-1.
