
NIL Power Program Culminates in Brand Presentations

SEATTLE – Throughout the winter quarter a group of Washington student-athletes participated in a class dedicated to strengthening their brand and increasing their marketability for garnering NIL deals.
The Power Program featured weekly sessions during which professionals discussed topics from social media marketing to financial literacy and professional development. Speakers included Washington football Director of Social Media, Hadley Heck, Montlake Futures Executive Director and General Manager, Emmy Armintrout, and Opendorse Senior Director of Marketplace Success, Lisa Bregman. The group of student-athletes were mainly underclassmen who were selected to participate.
Five sessions covered a variety of topics.
Student-athletes then made their brand pitch to local professionals who offered feedback.

- Session 2: The Social Media Formula - Basics of how to best optimize your social media.
- Session 3: The Professional Side of NIL - Going over attire for professional events, how to act at events, resume basics, cover letters, and professional emailing basics.
- Session 4: Donor Funded NIL Opportunities - Going over what a collective is and how Montlake Futures interacts with UW and NIL
- Session 5: Company Contacts & NIL Marketplaces - How NIL Marketplaces are impactful for student-athletes and local businesses, what Opendorse does for UW.
Student-athletes then made their brand pitch to local professionals who offered feedback.
