WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – In the last ever Pac-12 gymnastics championships at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah, Washington finished the first session of the day with a fourth-place finish, putting up a score of 196.325.
The GymDawgs competed alongside No. 5 seed Stanford, No. 6 seed Arizona State and No. 7 seed Arizona. Stanford won the first session with the 197.175. Arizona State came in second with a 196.550 with Arizona finishing narrowly behind the Sun Devils with a 196.475.
Washington scored its lowest team score of the season since Jan. 27 at UCLA.
The second lowest beam rotation of the season to start out the afternoon, paired with the third lowest floor rotation put the Huskies down a substantial amount after two events.
Emily Innes and Skylar Killough-Wilhelm, who are both tied for 12th in the conference on floor, earned a 9.875 and 9.825, respectively.
Washington redeemed itself with the final two rotations, notching its second highest vault of 2024 with a 49.175.
Mary McDonough earned a team-high 9.875 which also set a new career-high for the freshman. Killough-Wilhelm and Lana Navarro both earned 9.850s.
Uneven bars proved to be the best spot for the Huskies, tying their second highest score of 49.250.
Olivia Oppegard matched her season-best 9.850 in the third spot in the rotation, followed by Killough-Wilhelm's 9.925, a 9.8 from Lilly Tubbs and a 9.9 from Taylor Russon at the anchor.
Killough-Wilhelm earned her second straight 9.925 and the fifth 9.9+ on bars this season.
Killough-Wilhelm's 9.925 and Russon's 9.9 on bars were the only two 9.9s of the competition for Washington.
The Huskies came into Saturday the eighth seed of the conference championships. The second session of the championship will feature No. 1 seed Cal, No. 2 Utah, No. 3 UCLA and No. 4 Oregon State Saturday night.
