Ladine, Sellers Named Preseason All-Big Ten For Washington Women’s Basketball
October 02, 2025 | Women's Basketball
Rosemont, Ill. - Both senior Elle Ladine and junior Sayvia Sellers were selected to the 2025-26 Preseason All-Big Ten Team on Thursday morning. Ladine was selected by members of the media and Sellers was chosen by conference head coaches.
Ladine is coming off a season in which she ranked third in the Big Ten in points per game (19.2) and first in 3-point percentage (44.1%) during conference play. The San Francisco, Calif. native led the Huskies in points (562) and 3-pointers made (77), while scoring in double-figures in 28 games last season. She became just the fourth player in program history to score 40 points in a game — doing so against Northwestern (Dec. 28) to earn USBWA National Player of the Week honors.
Sellers totaled 15.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game during her sophomore season with Washington. She led the Huskies in assists, dishing out 128 on the season and 4.3 per game during conference play, a mark that finished seventh in the Big Ten. She also made a sizable impact on the defensive end of the floor, finishing 10th in the conference with 1.8 steals per game. The Anchorage, Alaska native recorded 30-point performances against Utah (Dec. 14) and Michigan (Jan. 15), while improving her overall shooting percentage by seven percent (47%, 190-404) and 3-point percentage by eight percent (38.7%, 67-173).
Both players helped Washington secure its third postseason appearance in the last three seasons, and its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2016-17, in 2024-25. With Ladine and Sellers staying in Seattle this offseason, the Huskies return two dynamic backcourt players.
Washington opens its regular season against Seattle U on Monday, Nov. 3 in Alaska Airlines Arena.
