Jamie Clark Signs Extension Through 2029

SEATTLE - Following UW'sΒ first season in the Big 10 and their 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in the last 14 years, head coachΒ Jamie Clark signed an extension at the University of Washington, tying him to the Huskies through 2029.
"We are fortunate to have one of the best head coaches in all of men's college soccer," said Director of Athletics Pat Chun. "Coach Clark has established the highest standards for Washington men's soccer. This past fall, we watched our team earn an NCAA Tournament bid for the eleventh time under Coach Clark, and the program continues to excel academically. We look forward to watching Coach Clark lead UW men's soccer for years to come."
WashingtonΒ has become a postseason regular under Clark and has consistently earned results in the national tournament. The Huskies secured their ninth second round appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2024 after advancing out of a penalty shootout against Seattle U.
"I feel privileged to continue my time at this great university and athletic department," said Clark. "I've made the city of Seattle and the University of Washington my home for the past 12 years.Β Each year my roots grow deeper, and my passion grows stronger. Β This athletic department is special, and to be a piece of its fabric is a privilege."
In 2021, Clark guided the Dawgs to a national runner up finish, the best result in program history, while alsoΒ tying the program record for wins in a season with 18.Β The Huskies have finished with at least eight wins in 13 of Clark's 14 at the helm and have claimed at least 12 wins 11 times since his appointment as head coach.
"The leadership that guides me is amazing, and ensures our teams have the resources to maximize their potential," added Clark. "My fellow coaches in the department provide me with inspiration and mentorship that ensures I keep growing and getting better."
Clark has produced professional players year in and out, leading 30 student-athletes to the MLSΒ SuperDraftΒ or homegrown signings. Most recently, Harrison Bertos was selected by San Diego FC in the second round of the 2025 MLS SuperDraft.
Clark's Huskies have consistently found success in the classroom as well. During the fall quarter, the Huskies earned a 3.63 team GPA while seven student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0.Β
"Most inspiringΒ though, I get to work with a group of student athletes that are smart, hardworking and passionate about being great," said Clark. "Helping them reach their goals is a privilege I take very seriously, and watching my alumni from the last decade move on and make their mark in the real world is the real reward."
