
Washington Gymnastics Sets Season Bests In Front of Record Crowd

SEATTLE – In front of an energetic crowd of 7,046, the second-largest attendance in program history, Washington gymnastics delivered a standout performance on Friday night at Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Ed while celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports Day.
The GymDawgs set multiple records and season bests, notching seven career highs, two tied career highs, and two event season bests, culminating in their highest overall team score of the season.
Washington opened the evening on vault, scoring a 48.550. Mary McDonough and Lex Mouyenga led the squad with scores of 9.750 and 9.725, respectively.
The energy soared during the Huskies' bar rotation, where they recorded a season-best 49.300. Caitlin McWilliams, in the leadoff spot, set the tone with a career-high 9.825. The momentum continued with five consecutive stuck landings from the rest of the lineup. McDonough achieved a career-high 9.875, while Olivia Oppegard tied her personal best with a 9.875. Taylor Russon followed with a career-high 9.925, and Kira Bolden made her debut in the bar lineup, anchoring with a solid 9.800.
The GymDawgs carried that momentum to beam, where they posted another season best of 49.300. McDonough earned her second career-high of the night with a 9.850. Chelsea Hallinan matched her career high with a 9.900, and Kristin Lin contributed with a personal-best 9.700.
Washington closed out the night on floor, highlighted by McWilliams' dominant 9.850 routine. Oppegard secured a career-high 9.775, while Emily Innes continued to be a steady contributor on floor, earning a 9.900 to cap off an impressive performance.
McDonough continued to improve her all-around score, earning a 39.100.
