
Huskies Earn First Big Ten Win, Split Sunday Doubleheader

The Huskies move to 21-9, 1-2 Big Ten on the season.

Stevie Hansen (6-1) got the start in the circle, throwing 5.1 innings with six strikeouts. Sophia Ramuno came on in relief tossing 1.2 shutout innings with no hits allowed and three strikeouts.
In a game that began on Saturday afternoon, Sunday's game picked up with a 3-2 count to Kedre Luschar with one out in the top of the second.
The Ducks brought across the first runs of the game in the third inning on four straight hits to take a 3-0 lead. Oregon scored two in the fifth to go up five.
Jadyn Glab put the Huskies on the board in the fifth inning with her 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot, to cut the Ducks' lead to three.

Ramuno got her second start of the weekend, going 2.1 innings with two strikeouts. Morgan Reimer (8-4) made her first weekend appearance to pick up her eighth win on the season. She struck out four in her 4.2 innings of work.
A leadoff walk for Glab and a one out walk to Alexis DeBoer brought up Sophi Mazzola who hit a single through the right side to bring around Glab for the 1-0 advantage.
In the second, Jade Bubke hit her second home run of the season over the left center wall to extend the lead to two.

Ava Carroll sent the second Husky home run of the game over the left center wall to put UW up 3-0. It is her second home run of the season. Carroll has reached base in 18 consecutive games.

Oregon tied the game at three in the top of the sixth on a bases loaded double by Stefini Ma'ake.
Back-to-back two out hits from Riley Peschek and Bubke brought up pinch-hitter Charity Sevaaetasi. With a 1-1 count, Sevaaetasi brought in the go-ahead run on a single down the left field line to give the Dawgs the 4-3 advantage.
Up a run in the top of the seventh and two runners on, a pop-up to Reimer ended the game to secure the first conference victory.
