
Washington Ties Season-High 196.125 At Big Ten Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Washington gymnastics tied its season-high score of 196.125 in the first session of the Big Ten Championships. The championships are divided into three sessions, with the team posting the highest overall score across all sessions being crowned the winner.
Ohio State took the top spot in session one with a 196.250, followed by Rutgers at 196.175. Nebraska finished third with a 196.150, and Washington placed fourth with a 196.125. Session two will feature Iowa, Illinois, Penn State and Maryland, while session three will include UCLA, Michigan, Michigan State and Minnesota. An awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the third session.
The Huskies opened strong on bars, posting a 49.100. Olivia Oppegard scored a 9.800, Mary McDonough tied her career high with a 9.900, and Taylor Russon anchored with a 9.875. Lex Mouyenga added a career-best 9.725.

Washington carried its momentum to beam, recording a 49.125. Emily Innes led off with a 9.875, McDonough added a 9.825, and Russon matched her career high with a 9.925 in the anchor spot.

The GymDawgs continued their solid performance on floor with a 49.025. Innes led the squad, tying for first in the event in session one with a 9.900. McDonough scored a 9.825, while Caitlin McWilliams and Kristin Lin each added a 9.775.
The Huskies closed out the meet on vault with a 48.875. McWilliams opened the rotation with a 9.725, followed by Kira Bolden, Mouyenga and McDonough, who each scored a 9.775. Innes contributed a season-high 9.825.
