Husky Hoops Signs Four Star Big Man Jacob Ognacevic Out Of Transfer Portal
April 09, 2025 | Men's Basketball
SEATTLE โ Washington head men's basketball coach Danny Sprinkle has announced his third signing out of transfer portal in Lipscomb senior forward Jacob Ognacevic.
ย
Ognacevic is the second conference player of the year to transfer to Washington this offseason, earning the top honor in the Atlantic Sun Conference and joining Southern Conference Player of the Year Quimari Peterson.
ย
Ognacevic is rated as a consensus four star transfer portal prospect by all major outlets, ranking at No. 96 overall by On3.
ย
"We couldn't be more excited to have Jacob coming to Montlake," Sprinkle said. "He is a player who can score the ball in multiple ways, His 6-8 frame with the ability to stretch the floor will help us tremendously. He is coming from a great program in Lipscomb, where he has been a part of a winning culture, has been coached hard and developed a strong work ethic, which is why his game has improved so much in his time there."
ย
After missing the 2023-24 season through injury, Ognacevic starred in his return to spearhead Lipscomb's run to an NCAA Tournament bid, leading the ASUN in scoring at 20.0 points per game, the 19th highest average in the nation. The Wisconsin native also pulled down the ASUN's fourth-most rebounds at 8.0 per contest.
ย
Ognacevic not only scored in bunches but did so efficiently, rankingย second in the ASUN and 25th in the nation shooting 57.5 percent from the floor, including 40.2 percent from three.
ย
While proving to be able to score at all levels, Ognacevic also earned a bulk of his points from the charity stripe, leading the ASUN and ranking 21st nationally in free throws, converting 80.0 percent of his attempts.
ย
Ognacevic finished this past season with 10 double doubles, the second most in the ASUN, while posting double figure scoring in 33-of-35 games, 19 20+ point games and five 30+ point outings.
ย
Ognacevic also proved his worth against Lipscomb's three Power Five opponents this season, averaging 17.0 points against Arkansas, Kentucky and Iowa State.
ย
Prior to his injury ahead of the 2023-24 season, Ognacevic earned First Team All-ASUN and Second Team All-District laurels from the NABC as a sophomore. During his second campaign in Nashville, the forward averaged 17.7 points and 4.6 rebounds.
ย
Ognacevic started nine times for Lipscomb as a redshirt-freshman, averaging 11.2 points and 4.0 rebounds while earning ASUN newcomer of the week honors twice. The Sheboygan, Wisconsin, native started his career at Valparaiso in 2020-21, posting 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.0 minutes per game.
