Rak And Gray Sign With Washington Gymnastics
May 20, 2025 | Gymnastics
SEATTLE — The University of Washington has added two new GymDawgs to the 2025-26 squad, as Lydia Rak (San Carlos, Calif.) and Charlotte Gray (Los Angeles, Calif.) have signed their intent to register. Both bring impressive gymnastics credentials and strong academic achievements to Montlake.
Rak, who trains at San Mateo Gymnastics, is a five-time national qualifier and a 2025 Development Program national team member. She was the 2025 regional all-around champion and posted three 38-plus scores at nationals during her club career. A proven leader, she served as team captain from 2022 to 2025.
Off the floor, Rak is an Eagle Scout and a five-time recipient of the Presidential Volunteer Service Award. She also earned the Innovation Diploma from Design Tech High School for her creativity and problem-solving skills.
"Lydia is an exceptional competitor with a championship mentality and a drive that is contagious," said head coach Jessa Hansen Parker. "Her ability to lead, innovate, and connect with those around her makes her an ideal addition to our GymDawg family. We're excited for the depth and leadership she brings and can't wait to see her impact both on the competition floor and within our team culture."
Gray, who trained at Gymnastics Olympica, is a two-time national qualifier and earned international experience competing for Team Canada at the 2022 Maccabiah Games in Israel. She finished third on beam at both the 2025 state and regional championships, placed fourth on bars at regionals, and took second on bars at the 2024 state championships.
A standout in the classroom as well, Gray maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school while running her own baking business, selling homemade goods to local coffee shops.
"Charlotte is a graceful and fearless performer who shines on beam and bars," Hansen Parker said. "Her international experience, competitive success, and drive both academically and creatively speak volumes about her character. She brings a fresh perspective and a level of poise that will elevate our team in and out of the gym. We're thrilled to welcome her to the Husky family."
