Huskies Finish Homestand With 3-0 Stampede of Long Beach State
August 21, 2025 | Women's Soccer
SEATTLE – Washington struck early and often in the first half, finishing off its three-match homestand with a 3-0 victory over Long Beach State at Husky Soccer Stadium.
Washington put 11 of its seven shots on the night on goal, holding The Beach to just four shots. Tanner Ijams was called upon twice in the Husky goal, earning her first career solo clean sheet.
The Huskies seized control right from the opening whistle and just moments after Samiah Shell's attempt at the opener was denied by the woodwork, two goals in rapid succession put UW up in the 13th minute.
With three home matches in tow, Washington heads on the road for a three-match run away from Husky Soccer Stadium, beginning with a weekend trip to UC Irvine. Sunday's matchup with the Anteaters will kickoff at 1:00 p.m. PT, streaming on ESPN+.

Jadyn Holdenried buried the first, sending home a bullet header in the middle of the 18 from Alex Buck's feed. Right after the restart, Maya Loudd's throw in found Holdenried, who diverted the ball into Kelsey Branson's path and the senior hit the back of the net.We love a bullet header ??

The Dawgs continued on the front foot and in the 29th minute, added to their lead on a Lucy Newlin nuke. Following a clearance outside the 18-yard box, the senior met the ball with a wicked strike, beating the keeper to the right side of goal.Best not blink when the Dawgs are on the attack!
