
Sherif Honored As B1G Player Of The Week

SEATTLE – Jermine Sherif has been named the Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Sherif won both of her matches at the No. 4 singles spot to move to 5-0 during the dual season. She defeated No. 98 Mu-Jie Tzeng (Baylor) in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 to close out the weekend as Washington improves to 5-0 overall.
Alongside doubles partner, Reece Carter, the duo won both matches at the No. 3 position, defeating Rice's Daniela Chica/Fernanda Martinez 6-1 on Saturday and Baylor's Tzeng/Neda Rahimkhani 6-2 on Sunday. Carter and Sherif are 3-1 during the spring season.
Washington returns to the court to begin a six-match home stretch beginning with Utah on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. PT.
