Huskies Sign Syracuse Transfer Callum Lugton
February 18, 2026 | Men's Soccer
SEATTLE - Washington bolstered the squad ahead of the 2026 season with the signing of Syracuse transfer Callum Lugton, head coach Jamie Clark announced on Wednesday.
"We are delighted to have Callum coming back to the PNW," said Clark. "He was one of the best attacking players in the 2025 recruiting class. He got a great taste of college soccer at Syracuse last season, and will be ready to make a big contribution in 2026."
Lugton, a native of Portland, Ore. returns to the Pacific Northwest for his sophomore season. As a freshman in 2025, Lugton made four appearances for Syracuse, logging 27 minutes of action.
"Callum is our sort of player," added Clark. "He has the ability to score goals which is key, but he's also a hard worker that's willing to do all the things on both sides of the ball to make his team successful. We know he's got the mindset to work and develop while he's here, and we're excited to see where that takes him."
The 5-foot-11-inch forward attended Baker Charter School while competing with the Portland Timbers Academy prior to beginning his college career. In 2022, Lugton led his Timbers Academy team to the 2022 Generation Adidas Cup Championship.
Lugton also has represented the United States in the youth ranks. In January of 2022, he was called up to compete with the USA 15U national team.
Lugton figures to add to a Husky offense that recently saw starting forward Charlie Kosakoff depart for LAFC 2.
The Huskies are reloading following the most successful season in program history. Washington reached the pinnacle of college soccer for the first time ever this fall, claiming the NCAA Championship after a 3-2 OT victory of NC State in the national championship match.
