Huskies Earn Ninth B1G Win With Michigan Sweep, Programโs Best Conference Start
March 22, 2026 | Softball
Washington's 16 game win streak matches the longest since 2019, as UW earns its third Big Ten sweep and improves to 9-0 in conference play, the best conference start in program history.
All three games of the series were back-and-forth battles, with the Wolverines scoring first in two of the three matchups.
Michigan got on the board first on Sunday with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning.
Alexis DeBoer hammered a three-run home run, her 12th of the season, to put the Huskies up 3-1 in the top of the first. DeBoer finished the weekend with a .385 average and five RBI.

Michigan countered with a three-run homer of its own, regaining the lead 4-3 in the bottom half of the second.
Ally Hetzel, who finished the day 3-for-3, blasted her first of two home runs in the bottom of the third to tie things up at 4-4. Hetzel recorded her first multi-HR game of her collegiate career, later notching a three-run homer in the top of the sixth.
On the series, Hetzel batted .600 (6-for-10) with a double, a triple, two home runs and three RBI. The Huskies were also led offensively by Giselle Alvarez, who batted .500 on the series (6-for-12) with two doubles and three RBI.

Ava Carroll came up after Hetzel and recorded a double, then Mila Reddy hit a single up the middle to put two runners on. A Kaycie Burdick double scored both runners and Washington regained the lead 6-4.
UM tied the game once again in the bottom of the third with a two-RBI homer to bring the series finale to 6-6.
Morgan Reimer entered the circle for the Huskies in the bottom of the fourth, recording back-to-back strikeouts for her first two batters faced.
The sophomore earned her 17th win of the season, throwing four innings and striking out four Wolverines.
The Dawgs scored two more in the top of the fifth on a Michigan error that put Burdick on base and scoring Sophi Mazzola.
DeBoer then grounded out to second base but brought in a run in Burdick, extending the Husky lead to 8-6.
Hetzel delivered another blast an inning later, a two-RBI deep to right center field to bring the Husky scoreboard to double digits with a 10-6 lead.
