Husky Standout Clement Chidekh Is Big Apple Bound

NEW YORK CITY - Former Husky standout Clement Chidekh is set to return to the sport's biggest stage when he competes in the US Open qualifying tournament beginning Monday, Aug. 24, in New York.Β
Chidekh's appearance marks another milestone in the professional career of one of the most accomplished players in program history. During his junior season in 2022, Chidekh became the first Husky ever to reach the No. 1 national singles ranking and went on to become the ninth All-American in program history.
After turning pro following his junior season, Chidekh gained experience on the Grand Slam stage, including qualifying appearances at Roland-Garros and Wimbledon in 2026. Now, he returns to the US Open for another opportunity to earn a place in the tournament's main draw and showcase the level of tennis that made him one of the most decorated players in Washington history.Β
The US Open qualifying tournament begins Monday, Aug. 24. The qualifying rounds run through Thursday, Aug. 27, with players battling for spots in the US Open main draw, which begins Sunday, Aug. 30. Fans and Husky alumni can follow Chidekh's run throughout qualifying with every match and court available to stream live on ESPN+.Β
