Washington Menβs Tennis Set To Welcome Luis Carvalho To Montlake For The 2026-27 Season

SEATTLE - Washington Men's Tennis is set to welcome Brazilian native Luis Carvalho to Montlake for the 2026-27 season. Carvalho will join the Huskies after two seasons at Memphis, bringing valuable singles and doubles experience to Washington's lineup.
As a redshirt freshman, Carvalho made an immediate impact for the Tigers, earning 10 singles wins, primarily at the No. 6 position, while adding nine doubles wins at the No. 3 position. He finished the season with 19 total wins, including three consecutive victories over Tulsa, Charlotte and Rice at the AAC Championship. In 2025-26, Carvalho added six singles wins while competing at the No. 4, 5 and 6 positions, along with three doubles wins.Β
Carvalho has also competed extensively on the international stage, reaching a career-high No. 137 ITF junior ranking, along with career-high ATP rankings of No. 1,771 in singles and No. 1,816 in doubles.Β
Head Coach Rahim Esmail said "We are really excited to add another quality player and quality person to our roster. Luis has a lot of experience already at the collegiate level and fits the type of character that we are looking to add to our program."
