UW Men's Golf Travels to Santa Cruz

COMING UP: The 21st-ranked Washington men's golf team will compete in the 54th annual Western Intercollegiate April 3 & 4. The Huskies won the tournment title last season with a two-round total of 584.
San Jose State will host the competition at the par 70, 6,445 yard Pasatiempo Golf course in Santa Cruz, California. Two rounds will be held on Monday, April 3, with the first round beginning at 8:00 a.m. The final round willp begin the next day, also at 8:00 a.m.
THE FIELD: The Western Intercollegiate tournament field is as follows: No. 5 BYU, Cal, UC-Irvine, UCSB, No. 9 Fresno State, Hawaii, Kansas, Long Beach St., Nevada, No. 28 Oregon, No. 29 OSU, Pacific, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Jose State, Santa Clara, No. 22 USC, NO. 15 Stanford, Texas-El Paso, No. 21 Washington. (All rankings are based on the top-30 teams from the March 29, 2000 MasterCard Collegiate Poll.)
LAST TIME: For the first time ever, Washington claimed back-to-back tournament titles, the Oregon Duck Invitational and the Anteater Invitational. The Huskies carded a team-total of 886 at the Anteater Invitational, March 27-28. Sophomore Gordy Scutt had the top score for Washington, with a third-place score of 218.
The Huskies took the Oregon Invitational March 20- 21 with a three-round total of 857. Washington fired a record low first round of 276. Team captain Scott Kral and sophomore Troy Kelly led the way for the huskies, tying for third at 213.
