June 30, 2005
SEATTLE-- The Pacific-10 Conference and FSN announced the 2005 Pac-10 women's volleyball television schedule Monday. Washington was selected for two appearances in the 10-match lineup, with a rematch of last year's Regional Final vs. UCLA on Oct. 13 and a rematch of last season's national semifinal vs. Stanford on Nov. 3. Both games will take place in Seattle at 7 pm.
The Huskies defeated UCLA three times last season including a thrilling 3-2 match in the Regional Final in Seattle as Washington advanced to its first Final Four in program history.
Washington went 1-2 against eventual national champion Stanford last year, splitting regular season matches and falling to the Cardinal 3-1 in the national semifinal.
Ten Pac-10 matches will be shown on FSN throughout the season beginning the weekend of September 23-24 and running through the weekend of November 25-26. All matches will be televised on a delayed basis.
The Huskies return five starters plus the libero for the 2005 campaign, including All-Americans Candace Lee, Christal Morrison, Courtney Thompson and Sanja Tomasevic. Washington also returns Jim McLaughlin, National Coach of the Year, for his fifth season at the helm of UW volleyball.
