Mackenzie To Throw Out First Pitch at Mariners Game

Washington senior golfer Paige Mackenzie will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Seattle Mariners baseball game on Tuesday, May 9, 2006. The 2006 Pac-10 Individual Champion, Mackenzie will be honored for her achievements both on and off the course. The game, which starts at 7:05 p.m. at Safeco Field, will feature the Mariners and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Mackenzie shot 3-under 69 in the final round of the 20th Pac-10 Women's Golf Championship, earning her the individual title with a total score of 5-under 211. The two-time All-American outdistanced runner-up Alissa Kuczka of Arizona State by four strokes. Mackenzie is the first Husky to win medalist honors at the Pac-10 Women's Golf Championship, which began in 1987.
The Washington women's golf team will tee off next at the NCAA Women's Golf West Regional, which will be hosted by the University of Washington at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash., May 11-13.
