Vaccher Named GoHuskies.com SAOTW

SEATTLE - Sophomore gymnastics Aliza Vaccher has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 2-8.
The Eugene, Ore., native became the first-ever UW Regional champion on the vault, winning the event outright with a career-best 9.925 on Saturday at the Seattle Regional. She had an all-around score of 39.225 scoring a 9.775 on bars, 9.775 on beam and a 9.750 on floor.
Vaccher also finished fourth in the all-around, qualifying individually for nationals for the second-straight season. She is just the fifth Husky to qualify twice for nationals in the all-around.
In 2011, Vaccher finished T-19th in the all-around at nationals, the best Husky finish since 2003.
