Player Bio: Kevin Ticen - University of Washington Official Athletic Site

Kevin Ticen is in his first season as the Huskies' volunteer assistant coach, having moved into the position after having spent the last five years as the team's director of operations.
He will coach first base during the games and also oversee the catchers.
Ticen earned two Husky letters as a catcher and third baseman in 1998 and 1999. After helping the Huskies to the 1998 Pac-10 championship, he was team co-captain in 1999, hitting .322 with 15 home runs and 51 RBI.
He went on to play parts of two seasons in the Anaheim Angels organization before traveling to Austria, where he spent two summers as player-coach for the Schwechat Blue Bats. He won the league batting title his first year and the league's triple crown his second.
Ticen was an assistant coach at Edmonds Community College for two seasons before coming to the UW. He also helped coach Chaffey Baseball, an elite youth team.
Ticen earned a bachelor's degree in communications from the UW in 1999 and a master's in sports administration from Texas in 2004. Ticen and his wife Michaela have two daughters, Annika and Anja, and a son, Lukas. They reside in Seattle.
