High School Awards: Won nine Canadian School medals at Holy Cross ... won a gold medal at Head of the Charles in a youth eight in 1997 ... named top sculler in 1998 ... member of Canadian Junior National Team in 1997 and '98 and won a bronze as part of a pair in '97.

Husky Rowing Experience: 2000 (Freshman): Rowed in the three seat in all-freshman varsity four that won a gold medal and helped UW to a second-place team finish at the NCAA Championships ... during the regular season, was in the seven seat in novice eight ... crew was undefeated, winning a third-consecutive title at the San Diego Crew Classic, an eighth-straight Opening Day victory and a sixth-consecutive Pac-10 title ... defeated California on its home course with the novice eight and then rowed again in a four that also won ... 2001 (Sophomore): Rowed three seat in the varsity eight that came from behind to win a gold medal and help UW capture the team title at the NCAA Championships ... helped lead crew to wins at the Pac-10 Championships, Windermere Cup, and a sweep of three dual regattas ... lone loss of the season came at San Diego Crew Classic, with a second place finish behind USC.

Personal: Daughter of Susan and Richard Stasiak ... mother is an insurance broker and father is an electrical engineer ... one younger brother, Brian (17).
I chose Washington because: It's a great school and I love the mountains. The crew coaches were fantastic and I felt like I could achieve all my goals here.
The best thing about Seattle is: The scenic view everywhere you look.
The best thing about UW is: The endless water you have to row on.
My best race was: A 1998 Junior National race in Austria. We finished fourth by less than a second. Even though we were fourth, we gave it our all. The result motivated me to train harder.
After I graduate, I plan to: Establish myself in field of work that I enjoy.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Enjoy the sunny days and your view from the boat.
