Brendan Bourdage spent one season as an assistant at UW.
Bourdage came to Washington from Humboldt State University where he was the assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer programs. He served as the goalkeeping coach there, training First Team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association goalkeeper Staci Self in 2006 for the women's team. He also oversaw the development of the men's goalkeeper, Drew Ryan, who was named 2008 First Team All-CCAA and Second Team All-Far West.
In 2005, Bourdage served as both the men's and women's goalkeeping coach while also starting in goal for the Lumberjacks men's team. That season, he was an all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference second-team selection, recording three shutouts and a 2.07 goals-against average.
Bourdage was a member of the Santa Clara University soccer team from 1996-99. In 2000, he earned his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara and was an assistant coach with the Broncos as well. He completed his master's degree in kinesiology at Humboldt State in the spring of 2010.
Bourdage spent five years on active duty in the United States Army from 2000 to 2005. He spent two tours in Iraq and was a member of the 2004 All-Armed Forces soccer team.
Bourdage holds his USSF B License.
