Washington alum Abdul Gaddy (UW ’13) joined the Huskies’ coaching staff as director of player development prior to the 2024-25 season.
Gaddy, who finished his fourth season playing for the Oklahoma City Blue of the NBA G League in 2024, returns to his home state to embark on his coaching career after more than a decade of playing professionally. He played four seasons overseas in Italy, Latvia and Germany.
A two-time Husky captain, Gaddy finished his collegiate career second on UW’s all-time assist list with 469 and became the the first player with 150+ assists in two seasons. He was a nominee for the 2012 Bob Cousy Award, awarded to the best point guard in the country.
He was a McDonald's All-American and top-15 recruit (ESPN100) coming out of Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma.
