- Made his collegiate debut in the season opening match vs Hawai'i, where he won 6-3,6-3 for his first career Singles victory over Hikaru Takahashi.
- Recorded his first collegiate Doubles victory, alongside Rohan Belday, against Belmont's Mizerski/Ortiz, 6-3.
- Opened his collegiate singles career on a three match win streak with wins over Hikaru Takahashi of Hawai'i, Esteban Ortiz of Belmont, and Milan Markovits of Princeton.
- In his debut season, held down the No. 5 singles position with the occasional appearance at the No. 4.
- Prior to Big Ten play, Hyeon commanded the No. 3 Doubles position alongside Rohan Belday and Daniel Bien, going 3-7 in that time.
