Jackie Nared is in her second season as the Director of Operations for Washington. The graduate of Saint Mary's averaged 21.8 points per game and leading the Gaels to 23 wins during the 2013-14 season.
“We are thrilled to have Jackie join our staff,” said head coach Mike Neighbors. “After watching her score 62 points in two games against us, we are glad to have her on our side.”
Nared came to Washington after finishing her career as one of the greatest players in Saint Mary’s history. She scored 1,653 points despite playing just three years for the Gaels. During the 2013-14 season, Nared set the all-time scoring record at Saint Mary’s with 677 points, while also setting the record for made free throws with 205. She was named All-WCC First Team and led the Gaels to the second round of the WNIT.
Nared had been a thorn in the Huskies sides the past two seasons. Last year, she scored 37 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the Gaels win in Moraga. In 2012, Nared had 25 points and 17 rebounds in a Washington win in Seattle.
A native of Portland, Ore., Nared began her college career at Maryland before transferring to Saint Mary’s. She returns to the Northwest after starring at Westview High School where she was a McDonald’s All-America nominee.
A daughter of a coach, former Husky assistant Greg Nared, Jackie brings a unique basketball knowledge to the Washington program.
