A golden retriever with a gift for reading the room, Dutton O’Toole is in his first year serving as the Chief Morale Officer for Washington Women’s Rowing. He brings daily enthusiasm, steadiness, and unmistakable optimism to the Dawgs, greeting student-athletes and staff with the kind of presence that lifts the whole boathouse.

Whether he’s supervising warmups, offering quiet support after tough sessions, or modeling elite recovery on the nearest patch of sun, Dutton plays a central role in the team’s culture. He reminds everyone that joy is a competitive advantage, and he embodies the program’s values of loyalty, positivity, and wholehearted commitment.

In a year built around the motto No Bad Days, Dutton leads by example — he truly never has one. He’s always seeking #Edges, showing the team what it looks like to #ExtendYourself, and he lives out #LeaveItBetterThanYouFoundIt in everything he does. A true Dawg in every sense, he’s already a beloved addition to the Women of Washington.
