The Huskies extended their streak of non-conference home wins to 14 straight games. The last non-conference home loss for UW was Dec. 21, 2004 versus Colorado in overtime (74-76).
The Huskies gave up a season low 15 turnovers. Their previous low came in a loss to UC Davis on 11/18/07.
UC Irvine went on a 15-2 run that lasted 4:43 starting at the 8:50 mark in the first half to go up by eight 22-30. The Huskies countered with a 15-6 run of their own to end the first half up 37-36.
Freshman guard Katelan Redmon tallied career highs in points, 20, and rebounds, 9. Her previous high of 19 points was set against Kansas State on 11/10/07, and her previous high of 7 rebounds came against Idaho on 11/23/07.
Freshman guard Sarah Morton saw an extended amount of playing time for the first time this year and scored a career high 5 points and 2 rebounds in just 9 minutes of play.
Sophomore center Laura McLellan scored a career high 11 points and was a perfect 5-5 from the field. Her previous high of 10 points came against Arkansas State on 11/25/07. . Sophomore guard Sara Mosiman tied her career high of 10 points on 5-5 shooting. She previously set her high against Arkansas State on 11/17/07.
Five of the nine Huskies that stepped on the floor scored in double-figures, and every player contributed at least 5 points in the win.
The Huskies shot a season high 53% (34-64) from the field, and were 43.8% (7-16) from behind the arc.
Laura McClellan fouled out on a technical with 1:37 remaining in the game.
