Pac-10 leading scorer, Casey Nash (20.0 ppg), was forced to leave the game late in the first half due to a collision that caused a bloody nose. Nash would return in the second half, but the Huskies limited her to just 13 points on 4-16 shooting.
The Huskies displayed a very balanced attack in Thursday night's game, as 8 of the 13 UW players to see action contributed at least 5 points to the winning effort.
Washington guard Cameo Hicks led the Huskies in scoring for the 20th time this season. With her 13 points in tonight's contest, this also marks the 26th time that Hicks has scored in double figures this year.
Washington's 17 wins in 2006-07 mark the eighth time in June Daugherty's 11 seasons at UW that the Huskies have won at least 17 games. Washington has now also achieved at least 10 wins in Pac-10 play for the fifth time in six years.
UW junior guard Emily Florence led the Huskies in rebounding for the 9th time this season - the most of any Husky.
Washington's win was its seventh-straight over Oregon State, and improved UW to 46-24 all-time versus OSU, including a 24-9 record in Seattle. The Beavers last beat the Huskies during the 2004 season, earning a narrow 62-59 victory in Corvallis.
Washington's defense capitalized on 20 OSU turnovers by outscoring the Beavers 20-8 off of giveaways. The Huskies have forced at least 15 opponent turnovers in 26 of their 28 games this season and hold a 16-10 record in those games.
Washington recorded a season-high 7 blocked shots, led by 2 rejections a piece by Cameo Hicks and Cheri Craddock.
Washington is now tied for fourth in the Pac-10 with USC, with both teams having 10-7 records in conference play.
