
No. 13 Huskies Score 195.475 At No. 3 Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The No. 13 UW gymnastics team posted its second-best team score of the year at No. 3 Utah on Friday night but fell to the Utes 196-975-195.475.
"This is a great road score for us and for us not to count a fall for the fifth-straight meet and to do it at Utah is a huge step for our program." said head coach Joanne Bowers. "We had great scores on vault and bars and stumbled a little on floor and beam but held on and had solid routines. I think everyone is excited about what our potential is."The Huskies were solid on vault for the third-straight meet, posting a season-high score on the event of 49.100. Sophomore Lauren Rogers (Plains, Pa.) led the team with a season-high 9.850 to finish third in the meet. Freshman Aliza Vaccher (Eugene, Ore.) posted a career-best of the event of 9.825 and junior Ruby Engreitz (Kirkland, Wash) also posted a season-high of 9.725, respectively.
Washington ranks in the top 10 in the country on bars and posted a solid team score once again of 49.025. Senior Kristen Linton (Edmonds, Wash.) led the way with a 9.875. Sophomore Kylie Sharp (Herriman, Utah) performed on the bars for the first time in her collegiate career.
Linton posted a season-high on the beam and for the second-straight meet the Huskies were led by senior Samantha Walior (Prior Lake, Minn.) on the event with a 9.825. Walior tied for second at the meet on the event.
On Floor, Engreitz and Walior led UW with 9.775's. Rogers posted a 9.750, a season-high.
Engreitz was the lone Husky to compete in the all-around, finishing third with a 38.500.
On Feb. 18 the Huskies travel to Tempe, Ariz., to face Pac-10 foe Arizona State.
