COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Rain washed away what was shaping up to be another intense match-up for the 21st-ranked Husky women's tennis team today at 30th-ranked Texas A&M. The match will not be resumed or rescheduled due to travel complications.
Texas A&M had a 1-0 lead after the doubles point and most matches had finished one set in singles. Denise Dy had taken her first set, 6-2, over 11th-ranked Nazari Urbina. Venise Chan had dropped a close first set, 7-5, and freshman Andjela Nemcevic had game point for a 4-2 lead in the second set though she had lost the first set. Aleksandra Krsljanin was at 5-5 in her first set, and the No. 6 match was at 4-3 in A&M's favor in the first.
Washington will head into Pac-10 play next week, but will still be on the road, as the Huskies head to Los Angeles to face USC on Friday, March 4, and UCLA on Saturday, March 5.
