The score of 918 (+66) at Palos Verdes Golf Club is a season high for the Huskies in five tournaments and is the team's worst finish after two wins and two second-place tournaments in the fall.
Despite the low finish, Husky coach Mary Lou Mulflur found valuable learning experiences her team can put in their back pockets for future use.
"I think we got a good taste at what the NCAA championships will be like," she said from Southern California, "a hard golf course where you need to practice unbelievable patience and be confident over the ball every time. We got a big dose of that and that is important for this group because none of them have been there before."
UCLA won the team title shooting 18-over 870. The Bruins' Erynne Lee, a native of Silverdale, Wash., won medalist honors after finishing even-par 213.

The Huskies were led by freshman Charlotte Thomas, who tied for 9th. Thomas entered the final round tied for fifth, but ended up shooting 5-over 76 on the day. She ended up +7 overall (220).
Thomas got her round started right with three birdies through the first seven holes, but couldn't maintain her hot start through the round. She had six bogeys and a double-bogey over her final 11 holes to ultimately finish out of the race for first.
"She was just playing beautifully," Mulflur said of Thomas. "She fell asleep for three holes and then she wakes up and the next thing you know not only are you out of the lead but you're quite a ways behind."
SooBin Kim ended up tied for 32nd to notch the second-highest finish by a Husky. The sophomore, who entered the tournament ranked No. 1 by Golfstat.com, shot the best round of the day among Huskies with a 2-over 73. She ended up +13 overall.
Freshman Ying Luo shot 21-over and finished tied for 55th. Sophomore Jennifer Yang was 64th and senior Brittany Tallman tied for 79th.
Sophomore Cyd Okino, who competed as an individual, ended up tied for 64th. She ended up with a score of 238.
The Huskies head north to the Bay Area tonight where they will play in the two-day Peg Barnard Invitational starting Saturday and running through Sunday.
"I'm really glad we're going right to another tournament. We can get right back on the horse and get back at it," said Mulflur.
