No. 44 UW Women's Tennis Falls to No. 4 UCLA, 6-1

The Huskies day was highlighted by Capucine Gregoire who extended her singles winning streak to nine-straight matches as she picked up a 6-1, 6-4 victory on court five over Kristin Wiley. Gregoire, who has played at the number five spot in the last two matches, has won eight of her nine during this span in straight sets.
UCLA clinched the doubles point but it was not without a fight from the Dawgs. Notably on court two, Julija Lukac and Grace Ysidora took the nation's top doubles pair of Catherine Harrison and Kyle McPhillips to the wire before falling 8-6.
In singles action, the top four matches for the Huskies were against nationally ranked opponents in the latest ITA top 55. Grace Ysidora battled number one ranked Robin Anderson on court one as the Dawgs were without Elianne Douglas-Miron for the second-straight match. Anderson prevailed 6-2, 6-1. Miki Kobyashi fell to No. 46 Jennifer Brady, 6-3, 6-2 on court two while Julija Lukac battled No. 13 Chanelle Van Nguyen before falling 7-5, 6-2.
Additionally, Riko Shimizu dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision on court four to No. 53 Catherine Harrison and Sophia Bott, playing in her first singles match of the year, fell 7-6, 6-0 to Terri Flemming.
The Dawgs continue a tough stretch against ranked opponents as they take on No. 1 USC at Noon on Saturday at the Bill Quillian Tennis Stadium.
