
No. 51 Huskies Fall at No. 10 Stanford, 7-0

STANFORD, Calif. – The No. 51 University of Washington women's tennis team fell to the 10th-ranked Stanford Cardinal, 7-0, Saturday afternoon down in Stanford, California. The Dawgs move to 10-9 on the season and 2-5 in Pac-12 play.
The Cardinal took the doubles point with two closely fought victories on courts one and two. Elianne Douglas-Miron and Miki Kobayashi fell to second-ranked Taylor Davidson and Carol Zhao, 8-6, while Capucine Gregoire and Riko Shimizu dropped an 8-5 decision on court two to No. 14 Caroline Doyle and Ellen Tsay.
The Dawgs had a tough go in singles play as four of Stanford's players were ranked in the top 100, with three holding spots in the top 30. Elianne Douglas-Miron fell 6-0, 6-0 to No. 4 Carol Zhao on court one while Grace Ysidora dropped her match one court two, 6-3, 6-3, to No. 16 Taylor Davidson.
Freshman Miki Kobayashi, taking on her fourth-straight top 50 opponent, lost 6-2, 6-3, to No. 27 Caroline Doyle. Additionally, Capucine Gregoire fell to No. 91 Ellen Tsay, 6-2, 6-1, while Julija Lukac and Natalie Allen also suffered losses to the Cardinal squad.
The Dawgs return home for three-straight matches to wrap up the regular season starting with Arizona on Friday, April 10 at 11 a.m.
