LOS ANGELES --- Nika Zupancic picked up a win in the Round of 32 to lead a small contingent of Washington women's tennis players at the Jack Kramer Collegiate Invitational this week at the Jack Kramer Club in Los Angeles.
Zupancic picked up a hard-fought 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win over Mya Bui from San Francisco to move into the Round of 16. However, she faced a tough battle in that round, falling 6-3, 6-3, to Paula Baranano from Baylor in her next match.
Ashley Chang, Delara Zamani and Abigail Watanabe all suffered losses in their first matches of the tournament. Consolation round results and doubles results were not available as of Friday afternoon.
